4 things I'm excited for right now...

1. To get our wedding pictures back -
I was trying to not get anxious about them, but since they said the pictures are almost done... I'm getting super duper ready to see them!

2. To start working in the greenhouse -
I am missing plants so bad! I know it's practically winter here already, but I'm anxious to try something like lettuce in the greenhouse even if I don't get a single thing to grow... I'm so ready to try! Plus, I need to cut back the strawberry rows and get them ready for winter :)

3. To see our videos from skydiving -
We had a change of plans on our honeymoon because of the hurricane in Florida, but one thing we still did on our honeymoon was skydiving. It was the best feeling ever. I think we both surprised ourselves and were pretty calm about it, and certainly all smiles afterwards!

4. For this day -
I've got a lot on the agenda today while Tyrel is working. I hope to trim the strawberries, finish pulling weeds in the greenhouse, finish putting away my clothes and decorate my "clothes room". Yeah, I have a whole room dedicated to my clothes... 😏 I should really probably do something about that ...maybe.
Then I have some zucchini bread to make, some onions to chop and freeze, and the whole fridge to go through and organize. I didn't realize how much of a "mom" I would turn into when it came to leftovers and the fridge. Makes me feel so "responsible" haha. ;P

But for now I'll share some pictures of what we did Saturday.

The Roadkill Festival was going on not far from some land Keith and Tyrel were going to re-build a cattle shoot on, so we went there in the morning. :)

We didn't end up trying any of the "roadkill" food... but we bought lots of good food from other vendors. The people we bought our house from had a stand with their maple syrup and maple cotton candy, maple balsamic vinaigrette... mmm... good stuff!

And we watched the Clevengers in the horseshoe tournament :)

Summer is the cow whisperer ;D

All the cows gathered around ;) Such pretty things!

Tyrel found us a mouse that we played with for a while ;)

All done :)

Tortellini

The Kitchn is by far my go-to place to find recipes or those basic step-by-steps that I desperately need. I love the pictures of each step and how the directions are so scientifically explained! ;) I hate guessing when it comes to cooking!

I found this Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup recipe on there, but problem... I don't have tortellini. So I did a quick search for homemade tortellini and thekitchn.com was the top result! Yes!! ;D

So the first recipe for the tortellini had a link to the 3-egg pasta dough.
Triple win!

I have three hours till supper needs to be done with some mowing and washing my car in between... I'll be back with picture updates! ;)

........................

Okay, so now that I've had time to recover from the HUGE flour mess in my kitchen, I'll share some pics. ;)

Ironically, the way to keep pasta from drying out while you're working with it is to always have it dusted with flour and always knead on very floured surfaces.

I don't have a pasta roller (nor do I want one... I have a hatred against having too many appliances cluttering up the cabinets). So hand rolling is the only option and it was super hard to get it very thin.

The result: HUGE tortellinis that were more like dumplings filled with cheese ;)
But Tyrel liked the soup really well, so maybe if I get a better hand at tortellini I'll be making again. Otherwise, I may modify it with some regular boughten pasta.

We also had a loaf of fresh bread. I'm loving my bread maker so much! Especially since Tyrel's lunch is always sandwiches and he likes homemade just fine for sandwiches. :)

Home

The wedding is over and we've taken that plunge into daily life! :) Well... maybe not quite yet to life that might be considered normal later.

Yesterday, we went grocery shopping to get everything from spices to meat, bread, and cheese. Tyrel was with me too, but I didn't embarrass him by calling him over to take a picture. ;)

We brought Gimpy home yesterday, so this morning I let him loose to run around a bit. He's still got a lot of puppy energy in him, but poor thing I made him sit still for a few minutes for pictures ... ;)

And we came home to fall... ❤️😊

I've been spending the time I can at home unpacking and putting away gifts. It feels good to have a few pieces of the house almost in order.

Tyrel got me after lunch to go square bale... ;)

It's a happy life. :)

And if you can't tell from the pictures, I loooooveeee our house. To me, living in it is like opening a big Christmas present everyday. We had it for a little while before getting married, but now getting to be there reminds me every day that it is the largest, most unimaginable "gift" I've ever gotten. I feel extremely blessed.

Now I better see what I can do about maybe making an apple pie out of all the apples that got thrown in our car as we left the wedding. ;) Hehe!

Have a wonderful day! ☺️
