About the Photographer

Hi there! My name is MarLeah {middle name Joy} and I grew up in SW Missouri, but now I live in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia.  On this blog, you'll mostly find a little bit of my musings mixed with photos from the latest happenings in my life. (And you are bound to run across several sessions and weddings if you look in my archives :P)

At this point in my photography journey, I have withdrawn from shooting weddings and portraits. Simply put, I want to keep enjoying photography as a hobby without the extra stress of pleasing clients. ;) I have also began to fall in love with making "home videos" of my travels, adventures and what-not, so I've spent a lot more time in the video-editing industry lately.

I'm just a young girl, still living in the small town I grew up in.
I've been to college for 3 semesters, but thankfully a full-time teller position at work opened up and rescued me from being a slave to school any longer. :D
I own a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. It's a lot of fun sometimes... until it needs repair. ;P
The most interesting place I have visited is Hawaii.
Some of my favorite experiences are: cliff jumping, skiing, snorkling, and backpacking the Ozarks.

Update... Hehe ;)
I am now happily married to Tyrel Beverage! We dabble in a little bit of everything farm life related! Wintertime holds a lot of fence building (when it's not snowing). Springtime means strawberries and garden time! Summer means... ahhh sweet summertime means making hay, and myriads of other things! Late summer is harvest time, and fall is family time ;) -- or back to fence building!

One of the biggest focuses in my life right now is the continual dying to self to let God direct my future. I love to set goals to follow (especially financial ones) and sometimes God gently tells me, "What if I want your life to go this way instead?" Then, in my feeble humanity, I modify my budget and look ahead a few years to see if that would be possible. (I literally have a budget made up in a spreadsheet for the next 7 years) But, then again... I never can know what God has in store. The song "Lead Kindly Light" has been such an inspiration to me.

"I loved to choose and see my path; but now,
Lead Thou me on!

Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene—one step enough for me.

Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!"

Thanks for stopping by! :)
