2015 Year in Review

I got off work a little early yesterday due to inclement weather.
I came home, we ate, I did laundry all evening, we had worship, and I was going to work on this video until time I needed to go to bed.
4 hours later...
Just finishing up the video and uploading to YouTube.
Yikes! Haha!
But, I feel so accomplished! Not that it is necessarily a masterpiece, but mostly because I've known all year that I have wanted to make a year in review video.

This year didn't turn out like I envisioned, to be honest. So a lot of things aren't included in this video that I thought would be in here when I first told myself I would make this "2015 review" video. :P I really thought I was going to travel to Germany or Africa and at least Honduras. Well, the Lord knew what was best for me! And instead He gave me several new friends that I love dearly, and many outdoor "experiences"! ;)

God has been very good to me this year, and all my memories of everything that has happened this year has honestly been very sweet. :)

Admit It

Yes,  admit it... I've been bogged down with editing. I had some other things to blog, and a video to share, but I've been putting my lunch hours to much editing.

And I have to share my favorite B/A of Tessa's pictures before I share the whole set.

Whew... I almost can't believe I was even able to recover this photo!
We were working with some of the lowest lighting, but a gorgeous sunset! So we just kept on shooting. Though it has proved to be challenging to edit, it's so rewarding! :)

Andrew {Senior 2016}

Sometimes, I have to chide myself for thinking so negatively.
Drew asked me to do his senior pictures, and the first thing that came to my head was... "that will be awkward." I guess I thought he would be uncomfortable with me, his cousin, taking his pictures and having him pose for me and blah, blah, blah. :P

But, I waited until my Aunt contacted my mom, again reiterating that they wanted me to take Drew's pictures. So we set a date!

All I have to say now -- in regards to my apprehension -- is... "How laughable, MarLeah!" It turned out to be a great early-fall day with nice light. And we had a really great time going from one scene to the other, one change of clothes to another... We were just rolling with ideas - especially at the end when we were running out of light ;)

Let me just insert something here... I have so much admiration for anyone who sticks through band all throughout high school. It's not just about the class period when you practice a few pieces with the whole band. Drew applied himself to many other aspects of band: solos, all-State band, District band, etc. I know how character building it can be -- there are a lot of rough times along the way and maybe times when you want to quit. So I'll just say that he made me proud cousin :)

This is like *hands down!* my favorite picture from the whole evening!
I love that stained wood, and the bassoon... and his suit... and the colors... Ahhh.... Hehe ;)

One Senior down, three more to go! :)

Things of Home

Just a peek into my current life. This last week I was so thankful to have a semi-slow week... at least enough to enjoy being home a little more :) At least I got a lot of "domestic" things accomplished. :)

A little cooking to feed those I love...

A little guy who's not supposed to be in the house, but sneaks in... and I never mind his company :)

Sewing renovations are my favorite...

Let it be known that I love soft lighting.
The first image is a cute ampersand lamp I found super cheap on our last vacation. It's currently in my new walk-in closet so I don't have to "wake myself up" with super bright lights when I'm getting ready for bed :)
The second image is the new light daddy installed on the garage. Yay!

We did a little re-arranging downstairs in the room that I painted bright teal :)
Truth be told... I could arrange and re-arrange all the time.

We had family time on Sunday and recorded a song together :)
I've posted one of the songs on Soundcloud for you all to hear.
(My cousin, Rodney Adams, is also singing -- just not pictured)

I love these Elwell ladies! :)
We had such a beautiful "Fall" day for their pictures, too. The fall weather we had back then was nothing compared to this snow-spitting fall we've got now :P As, I'm sure you can tell by the green everywhere. Oh well, that season has come and gone...

Now I feel all warm and cozy just looking at the pictures... I think I might go grab a blanket to curl up with right now! :)
