Tortellini
The Kitchn is by far my go-to place to find recipes or those basic step-by-steps that I desperately need. I love the pictures of each step and how the directions are so scientifically explained! ;) I hate guessing when it comes to cooking!
I found this Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup recipe on there, but problem... I don't have tortellini. So I did a quick search for homemade tortellini and thekitchn.com was the top result! Yes!! ;D
So the first recipe for the tortellini had a link to the 3-egg pasta dough.
Triple win!
I have three hours till supper needs to be done with some mowing and washing my car in between... I'll be back with picture updates! ;)
........................
Okay, so now that I've had time to recover from the HUGE flour mess in my kitchen, I'll share some pics. ;)
Ironically, the way to keep pasta from drying out while you're working with it is to always have it dusted with flour and always knead on very floured surfaces.
I don't have a pasta roller (nor do I want one... I have a hatred against having too many appliances cluttering up the cabinets). So hand rolling is the only option and it was super hard to get it very thin.
The result: HUGE tortellinis that were more like dumplings filled with cheese ;)
But Tyrel liked the soup really well, so maybe if I get a better hand at tortellini I'll be making again. Otherwise, I may modify it with some regular boughten pasta.
We also had a loaf of fresh bread. I'm loving my bread maker so much! Especially since Tyrel's lunch is always sandwiches and he likes homemade just fine for sandwiches. :)

Home
The wedding is over and we've taken that plunge into daily life! :) Well... maybe not quite yet to life that might be considered normal later.
Yesterday, we went grocery shopping to get everything from spices to meat, bread, and cheese. Tyrel was with me too, but I didn't embarrass him by calling him over to take a picture. ;)
We brought Gimpy home yesterday, so this morning I let him loose to run around a bit. He's still got a lot of puppy energy in him, but poor thing I made him sit still for a few minutes for pictures ... ;)
And we came home to fall... ❤️😊
I've been spending the time I can at home unpacking and putting away gifts. It feels good to have a few pieces of the house almost in order.
Tyrel got me after lunch to go square bale... ;)
It's a happy life. :)
And if you can't tell from the pictures, I loooooveeee our house. To me, living in it is like opening a big Christmas present everyday. We had it for a little while before getting married, but now getting to be there reminds me every day that it is the largest, most unimaginable "gift" I've ever gotten. I feel extremely blessed.
Now I better see what I can do about maybe making an apple pie out of all the apples that got thrown in our car as we left the wedding. ;) Hehe!
Have a wonderful day! ☺️

Workday
Early yesterday morning I got a call that made my entire day a whole lot happier!!! Tyrel came in two days early! 😍 I so enjoyed having him there with my cousins as we worked around the house painting the north wall, staining the deck, and replacing pillar bases.
Summer!! I really enjoyed it once she got here a little later in the day -- it just felt like one big happy family! 🙃 So happy to have her here this whole last week ☺️
They jacked up the porch and replaced each pillar base, changing it from wood to concrete. 💪🏼
I have to say, at first the deck stain seemed a little "too red" to a lot of us, but after it started drying some and seeing it from a distance... we all loved it!
Ice cream cake to celebrate all the completed projects ☺️
Thanks so much to everyone who helped yesterday and everyone who has helped in their own way! We are so excited for this day, and can't wait to share it with everyone! 6 days!!!
